Grace

Spotlight flooded the floor on cue
The stage was tinted with a golden hue
Melody from the record began to rise
As she took the center stage in style

With the music her body began to flow
Her hands swayed in the rhythm, nice and slow
With her jumps she would touch the starry sky
And every step felt like a different high

The spins, jetes were all justified
As the music soared and intensified
Her elegance still stalled time
Every second and minute it redefined

With a triumphant smile she was ready to fly
She had practiced this finale many a times
She spread her arms and took that final jump
Her feet slipped and she fell with a thump.

Tears welled up as she began to rise
But she didn’t weep nor utter a sigh
She stood up flawlessly with a smile on her face
And maybe that’s why they called her Grace!

P.S: Belated happy birthday Rids. This is for you. :D

What a perfect birthday gift. And what a gorgeous, gorgeous poem! It is not very difficult to read your own passion about dancing through your words. The best of the best of both worlds!
