Neverland

The world turned on the bright lights
Still I felt so lonely tonight
Every sound and every voice
Was distorted, chaotic noise

And I was lost in Neverland
Beautiful outside, cold inside
I made my way through the crowd,
Running for the exit as I cried.

Nobody seemed to care
No one seemed aware
And every face was identical to the next
I was trapped in a haunted carnival fest

And I was lost in Neverland
Beautiful outside, cold inside
I made my way through the crowd,
Running for the exit to survive.

But I tripped, I fell and I lost time
And I saw the gates close with me-e-eee inside.

I've felt this way before. Never knew how to describe this feeling. Now, I know. Thank You. :)

Btw, that reminds me, long back i had attempted to write a poem related to this feeling. Needless to say that it sucked. :P Proud of you! Keep it coming!

@ Pooja - I'm 101% sure it wouldn't be that bad. You are just exaggerating. N thank you for your precious comment. It meant a lot. Glad i can voice your thoughts. :)

With no such real-life experience I can still very closely relate to this poem just like most others will be able to. It is not very rare that we find ourselves so completely lost, lost in a carnival, lost in a crowd, lost in what is other people's dreamland but can never be our Neverland.
Very well written!
